General Information
The TLG2000 serves as a highly versatile sound and light signal controller, handling multiple critical functions essential for maritime safety. Not only does it provide automatic sound and light signals in compliance with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, but it also offers a General Emergency Alarm (GEA) that combines both sound and light signals. Furthermore, the system includes automatic bell and gong signaling for anchoring and aground scenarios. Operators can choose to control all functions manually or automatically, allowing for greater operational flexibility.
TYFON®, Morse Light, and Bell & Gong Signaling
The TLG2000 supports eight distinct TYFON® signal characters, which can emit at variable intervals. Additionally, these signals function either as sound-only or as a combination of sound and Morse light signals, ensuring full compliance with Rule 35 of the International Regulations. Moreover, the system facilitates optical Morse light signals for attention and maneuvering, adhering to Rule 34. For vessels at anchor, the TLG2000 provides repeating bell and gong signals, further enhancing overall safety during operations.
Configuration and Customization
Although the TLG2000 typically operates efficiently with its factory settings, some installations may, in fact, require specific adjustments. When powering up the system, users can enter configuration mode to customize four important functions:
- Fore TYFON Indicator: If two whistles are connected with more than 100 meters between them, simultaneous sounding is prohibited. Therefore, the indicator can be enabled or disabled to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Bell & Gong Function: By default, the system supports an electro-mechanical bell and gong. However, if this feature is unnecessary, users can disable it, and the LED will flash to indicate inactivity.
- GEA and Abandon Ship Activation: Users can select from three activation modes for the GEA or Abandon Ship signals, depending on whether continuous or pulsed activation is needed.
- Morse Light Response Time: Users can also adjust the response time for external Morse light activation, enhancing signal timing precision.
To fully meet Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) standards, proper electrical installation is crucial. It is important to secure cables to prevent strain on terminal blocks, which support cable diameters up to 2.5mm².
