Vaartuigen LOA 75m - 200m

Vaartuigen LOA 75m - 200m – Products
AT 150/130 air whistle, suitable for vessels with a LOA 75m till 200m.
Regulations Before and After COLREG 1972
Before “COLREG 1972” (International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea), low-pitched tones were often used for smaller vessels. However, the principle of reserving low tones for large vessels was not strictly enforced. The IMO regulations now reserve very low tones exclusively for the largest ships. For middle-sized and smaller vessels, there are broader frequency options available.
Signal Preferences and Frequency Range
IMO regulations prioritize signals that maintain audibility even at a distance. Vessels between 75 and 200 meters (246 – 656 feet) should use whistles with frequencies ranging between 130 and 350 Hz. These frequencies ensure effective communication and compliance with maritime safety standards.
Installation Instructions for AT 150/130
Mounting the AT 150/130
Secure the AT 150/130 whistle with four M16 bolts to an outrigger or similar construction. Ensure the structure is stable to prevent any operational issues.
Cleaning the Supply Pipe
Before connecting the supply pipe to the whistle, blow the pipe thoroughly clean. This step is crucial to avoid any functional troubles caused by debris or contaminants in the pipe.
Installing a Primary Filter
If the pipeline above deck exceeds 100 meters (328 feet), install a primary FILTER TP 15/2 at the base of the mast. This filter protects the whistle from water condensate and rust particles, ensuring reliable operation.
Maintaining the Filter
Regular maintenance is essential for ensuring optimal performance. To begin with, it is recommended to drain the filter approximately once a month. By doing so, you can effectively prevent blockages while also maintaining the integrity of the signaling system.
Valve Unit Specifications
The VALVE UNIT TV 784 is designed for efficient air flow, featuring thermostatic heating, exchangeable choke flanges, and filters. It includes two coils for normal and emergency operation, as well as a lanyard, providing reliable functionality.

AT 150/330 air whistle, designed to meet regulations Zone 2 German inland waterways.
Powerful IMO-Compliant Air Horn for Inland Waters
The AT150/330 is a powerful air horn designed to meet IMO maritime regulations for inland waterways, including Zone 2 waterways and German sea arms like the Ems, Dollard, Weser, and Elbe. This air horn is required for vessels over 20 meters in length, with a sound level of 132 dB at 1 meter and a base frequency between 130 and 350 Hz. AT 150/330 zone 2
IMO Requirements for Zone 2 Waterways
In Germany, Zone 2 waterways require an air horn that complies with IMO regulations. Ships over 20 meters must have an air horn that delivers the specified sound level and frequency to ensure safety and proper signaling. The AT150/330 meets these stringent standards, offering reliable performance under varying conditions.
Easy Installation and Customization
The air horn comes with a specially designed bracket, allowing it to be easily installed and adjusted in any direction to fit different vessel setups. Brackets are available in durable aluminum and stainless steel to suit various installation environments.
Additionally, the air connection is highly customizable, providing flexibility for both the horn and the air control unit to meet specific requirements. This makes the AT150/330 adaptable to various ship systems.
Certified for German Regulations
To ensure compliance with German regulations for Zone 2 waterways, the AT150/330 comes fully BSH certified. Its combination of power, ease of installation, and regulatory approval makes it the ideal choice for ships navigating these areas.

MT 150/130 electrically driven piston whistle, suitable for vessels with a LOA 75m till 200m.
General Information
The ELECTRO–TYFON® MT 150/130 is an electrically driven piston ship’s whistle. It features minimal moving parts, a “swinging piston,” a cylinder that requires no lubrication, and an oil-free gearbox.
Key Features
- Unsymmetrical Sound Distribution: The design ensures the sound is distributed unevenly for efficient signaling.
- Adaptability: It operates effectively in all temperatures without additional measures.
- Stability: The whistle remains unaffected by voltage and frequency fluctuations.
- Maintenance-Free: The whistle is oil-free, non-corrosive, and requires no maintenance.
- Easy Installation: Simplified installation process.
- Compliance: Fully complies with International Regulations IMO 1972.
All-Temperature Operation
The ELECTRO–TYFON® MT 150/130 delivers high performance in both arctic and tropical climates. Its patented system, featuring a high-efficiency rectangular horn and a specially designed motor, automatically adjusts the motor speed to match the horn’s acoustic resonance, regardless of ambient temperature. This ensures the whistle remains unaffected by onboard voltage and frequency fluctuations.
Unsymmetrical Sound Distribution
IMO Regulations demand a high Sound Pressure Level for effective signaling, but the sound level at the vessel’s listening posts should not exceed 110 dBA. To solve this, the whistle is typically placed high above the deck. However, if the highest point is insufficient, doubling the distance between the listening post and the whistle can reduce noise by 6 dB.

ELECTRO–TYFON® MT 150/140 is an electrically driven piston ship’s whistle. It is built up of comparatively few moving parts as the “swinging piston”, no lubricated cylinder and an oil free gearbox.
- Electrically driven (Power source)
- 140Hz (Fundamental frequency)
General Information
To ensure safety, the TK80 contactor unit includes a thermal overload relay that protects the installation from excessive current. This relay has a set point of 13A, providing reliable protection during operation. By default, the relay operates with an automatic reset feature (A), which simplifies management for users. However, operators can change the relay function to a manual reset option (H). In this case, the user must reset the overprotection using the green pushbutton, adding an extra layer of control.
Additional Features
Moreover, the unit supplies heating voltage to the ELECTRO-TYFON®. This heating voltage automatically switches off during signaling, optimizing energy efficiency and enhancing safety. As a result, operators can count on the system for consistent performance and protection under various conditions. Overall, these features make the contactor unit a vital component in ensuring reliable and safe operation.
